KP athletics trials held for national youth games; final squad to be announced after last phase

Trials for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s male and female athletics players were held in preparation for the upcoming National Youth Games, scheduled to take place next month at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad. The event is being organized in collaboration between the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and the Pakistan Olympic Association.
According to Hayatabad Sports Complex Administrator Abid Nazim, a large number of male and female athletes participated in the trials, where their performances were closely evaluated under the supervision of the selection committee. The committee included Asian gold medalist athlete Asad Iqbal, Abid Nazim, Jafar Shah, Musharraf Afridi, and female coach Bushra.
Nazim stated that in the initial phase, 20 male and 15 female athletes demonstrating exceptional performance have been shortlisted. The selection committee confirmed that after the final phase of trials, the official Khyber Pakhtunkhwa squad for the National Youth Games will be announced.
