Underprivileged and remote areas deserve special attention: Chairman Senate

Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right of every citizen. He was addressing inauguration ceremony of Murree Sparkletts RO Plant and Water Line Unit-2 in Hattar as Chief Guest. The ceremony was graced by Senators, Member National Assembly Isphanyar M. Bhindara, management of Murree Sparkletts, and a large number of distinguished guests.
In his address, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani congratulated the management of Murree Sparkletts and all those involved in the completion of the project, stating that the initiative marks a significant milestone in providing people with a basic necessity—safe and clean drinking water.
He said the event reflects a collective resolve where public representatives, the private sector, and local communities unite for a greater cause. He said such steps are crucial to protecting people from waterborne diseases.
Chairman Senate stressed that underprivileged and remote areas deserve special attention and greater support so that their residents can also benefit from this essential facility.
He highlighted that the Senate of Pakistan, as the House of Federation, fully supports all initiatives that prioritize public welfare.
He termed the private sector vital for national development, adding that thousands of people are associated with the industrial sector, which directly and indirectly generates employment opportunities.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani further said that Pakistan is blessed with abundant resources, and ensuring their responsible utilization is the need of the hour. Projects like the RO Plant are proof of our seriousness and commitment to providing a healthy and secure future to the coming generations.
He added that the provision of clean water is in fact an investment in public health, education, and the economy, while also strengthening the dignity and aspirations of the people. Isphanyar M. Bhindara thanked the Chairman Senate and informed that the plant has the capacity to produce as per the daily market demand.
Senator Talha Mahmood and Senator Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan also accompanied the Chairman Senate.
Chairman Senate also visited ACM Group of Industries. During the visit, he was given a detailed briefing about ACM Group of Industries. On this occasion, the Chairman Senate appreciated the efforts of Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, head of the institution, and the management, and planted a sapling in the factory lawn.
During his visit to the ACM Group of Industries unit, Chairman Senate remarked that the use of modern technology in the plant is commendable.
He praised the adoption of eco-friendly technology and the efforts to deliver quality products to consumers. He was informed that the Group currently leads in exports and supplies quality products globally.
The Chairman Senate termed the industrial sector as the backbone of the country’s economy and said that it needs further encouragement. He also assured his full cooperation in this regard.
