Imran Khan endorses conditional KP budget approval, says Barrister Saif
Says founding chairman briefed on budget, legal challenges

Advisor to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, held an important meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to discuss critical matters related to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) budget and the province’s political landscape.
According to Dr. Saif, Imran Khan gave his consent to the conditional approval of the budget and is expected to issue specific instructions for further amendments.
According to a statement, following the meeting, Barrister Dr. Saif stated that a detailed briefing was provided to Imran Khan, focusing on legal and constitutional challenges surrounding the timely passage of the provincial budget. He warned that failure to pass the budget within the constitutionally mandated period could have led to a severe crisis, including disruption in salary disbursement and essential government operations.
Dr. Saif further revealed that Imran Khan was apprised of the opposition’s alleged tactics to block the budget’s approval, including a so-called “conspiracy meeting” held at the Governor House. “The opposition had devised a comprehensive plan to obstruct the budget process, which could have resulted in a constitutional impasse,” he said.
He added that the KP government had sought the opinions of legal and constitutional experts and held in-depth consultations within the parliamentary party before moving forward with conditional approval of the budget.
“Changes in the budget are expected following a recent meeting between Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, Muzammil Aslam, and Imran Khan,” Dr. Saif said. “I was given special permission to meet Imran Khan, as the Chief Minister and Muzammil Aslam had not been allowed to do so earlier. I conveyed all their points and provided a full budget briefing on their behalf.”
