Haji Ali Hassan Zardari orders officials to stay alert for rain emergency

Sindh Minister for Jails, Works, and Services, and the appointed rain emergency focal person by CM Sindh, Haji Ali Hassan Zardari, chaired a critical meeting at Makli Darbar Hall.
He directed all relevant departmental officers to remain vigilant and on 24-hour alert during the possible rain emergency, emphasizing that no officer should leave their headquarters without permission.
Zardari stressed the need to utilize all available resources to complete preparations for potential emergency situations before the rains hit, ensuring that people do not face any inconvenience.
Reviewing the arrangements made by the relevant departments to deal with the rains, he instructed officers to ensure the desilting of drainage channels and disposal points, maintain operational machinery, and take effective measures for draining rainwater from low-lying areas and important roads.
He directed the Irrigation Department officers to strictly monitor sensitive embankments of the Indus River and ensure the availability of necessary machinery and materials to prevent potential damages.
Health department officers were instructed to ensure the availability of vaccines and medicines for snake bites, dog bites, malaria, diarrhea, gastroenteritis, and other required medicines, along with doctors, paramedical staff, and ambulances in all health centers of the district for timely relief.
Additionally, Zardari instructed the Livestock Department to ensure the vaccination and provision of medicines for livestock migrating from mountainous and hilly areas to protect them from various epidemics. Departmental officers provided a detailed briefing on the preparations made to deal with potential emergencies.
Speaking to the media, Zardari stated that President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have given special instructions to ensure all possible assistance to the public during rains, floods, and other natural disasters to prevent any difficulties. He assured that Thatta, his home district, would not be left alone during difficult times. He emphasized the responsibility bestowed by the Government of Sindh and expressed confidence in facing disasters with the cooperation of all departments.
Zardari also mentioned that he is personally overseeing the situation to manage potential rains and floods during the rain emergency. Responding to questions, he highlighted better arrangements for the possible rain situation, especially in coastal areas. He also announced that the construction work on District Jail Thatta will be completed by December this year. Lastly, he visited Thatta jail to review the ongoing construction work.
