Gunmen held after clash sparks panic in Cantt area

Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two persons involved in a violent altercation in the cantonment area.
According to police, the action was taken on the directives of SP Cantt Division Aitzaz Arif and under the supervision of DSP Cantt Circle Dost Muhammad Khan.
SHO West Police Station Noor Muhammad Khan led a prompt police operation resulting in the arrest of armed individuals involved in a violent altercation in the Cantt area.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at Fawara Chowk, where two rival parties clashed following a verbal dispute. The confrontation escalated when individuals from both sides resorted to aerial firing in an attempt to intimidate each other, causing panic and fear among local residents. There was also a serious threat to human lives due to the reckless firing.
Acting swiftly on the received information, SHO Noor Muhammad Khan, accompanied by a team of police personnel, reached the scene and managed to arrest the suspects involved in the altercation. Two pistols and several cartridges were recovered from the possession of the arrested individuals.
The suspects have been identified as Talha and Nawaz, both residents of Nothia. A case has been registered against them, and further investigation is currently underway.
The timely action by the West Police has been lauded for preventing potential loss of life and restoring peace in the area.
