CM-KP vows to hold rally at Tarnol Chowk today

PESHAWAR
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has vowed to hold the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s planned rally at Tarnol on August 22 (today), vowing to resist any obstacles created by the incumbent federal or Punjab government.
While chairing a meeting of the PTI parliamentarians to review PTI rally preparations, Ali Amin Gandapur has accused the federal government of acting in a dictatorial manner, stating that the Islamabad High Court had granted permission for the rally but the Islamabad Commissioner had revoked the No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The KP Chief Minister condemned the federal government’s decision and declared that he would lead the procession from the Swabi Interchange. He asserted that the rally would take place in Tarnol Chowk regardless of the obstacles.
“Tomorrow will prove that the power lies with the people, not with these mandate thieves,” he said.
PTI leader Asad Qaiser also issued a statement, stating that the party will hold the rally as per the Islamabad High Court’s permission.
He warned that the federal government would be held responsible for any attempts to obstruct the rally.
Qaiser said that the PTI had applied for the rally at all relevant authorities, including the court, and reiterated their commitment to holding the event.
“We will hold the rally as per legal requirements, and our preparations are complete,” the Chief Minister said.
I will lead the march himself, highlighting the party’s determination for holding the rally scheduled by its party senior leaders.
He criticized the central government’s “self-interested policies,” blaming them for the country’s economic woes and deteriorating situation.
“We will not be deterred by obstacles and will strongly resist any attempts to disrupt our rally.” Ali Amin Gandapur added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Islamabad district administration has denied permission to PTI to hold a rally in the federal capital, scheduled to be held on August 22. As per official notification, the decision has been taken in the view of reports submitted by the district intelligence committee.
