Body formed to probe attack on diplomats in Swat
PESHAWAR
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has swiftly responded to the bomb attack on a police van guarding foreign diplomats on the Swat-Malam Jabba Road by forming a two-member fact-finding committee.
Led by Special Secretary of Home Department Zubair Ahmed and Additional Inspector General of Police Alam Khan Shenwari, the committee will investigate the bombing that resulted in one policeman’s death and three injuries.
The provincial inquiry committee has been directed to submit the report in a week.
This move comes after Provincial Assembly members from Swat and provincial minister for livestock Fazal-e-Hakeem demanded a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the terrorism incident in its hometown.
KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has condemned the act of terrorism and invited the 12 unaffected ambassadors to the Governor House Peshawar.
