All the politics, matters are running beyond ambit of constitution: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Former Prime Minister (PM) and head of Awam Pakistan Party (APP) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said all the politics and matters are running beyond ambit of constitution at present.
Non contesting the election 2024 was a very difficult decision in the face of my 35 years companionship with the people of the constituency . I did not want to become part of corrupt system. My relationship with Nawaz Sharif is very old which is very dear to me. There are some responsibilities in the politics which are above the personal interests. Who are sitting in parliament today have no respect. Majority of them has lost the election. Consensus is the only key to problems facing the country, he said this in an exclusive interview with Online here Wednesday.
In the prevailing situation I would never have sit on the chair of prime minister the way Shehbaz Sharif is sitting, he added.
Every institution is breaching the constitution today and respective limits are being transgressed, All the politics and matters are running out of parameters of constitution which is perilous for the country, he remarked. Their solution will have to be found.
My relationship with Nawaz Sharif is 35 years old. This relationship is very dear to me. I was staunch supporter of “ vote ko izzat do”. But they deviated . PML-N separated itself from the slogan of vote ko izzat do on its own.
Replying to a question he said I thank God I am out of parliament. Who are sitting in parliament have no respect among the people.
This is love of people of Pakistan for me which made me prime minister. What respect I am enjoying today is not embedded in any post.
To a question he said politicians like us make the country pass through critical phase. As long as we steal election country will continue to pass through critical situation.
To a question he said 2018 election was a robbery. 2024 election was a theft.
Responding to a question about constitutional amendment Abbasi said I want to meet this man who authored and read constitutional amendments. I have met ministers of the government and opposition members as well. All were ready to cast vote in favor of constitutional amendments. But no one was holding draft of the constitutional amendments.
Regarding meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman he said I had sent message that whenever he is free from the matter of constitutional amendments I want to meet him.
But Maulana Fazlur Rehman sent message on the night he was meeting with other opposition leaders saying come to me just now.
I said ok. Maulana sleep in late night hours. Therefore, I reached his home till late night. Our meeting lasted one and half hour. The overall political situation of the country was discussed in the meeting. However no specific talk was held on constitutional amendments. I was to make consultation with him on some specific matter which lasted one hour. It was my advice to him all the matters be kept before the people. This is better because the incumbent government is in place today and will not be there tomorrow.
To a question he said the constitutional amendments cannot be brought without the support of Nawaz Sharif. Had constitutional amendments come, Nawaz Sharif himself would have cast vote in parliament.
