Says PTI rally in Islamabad would now take place on Sept 8

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public meeting in Islamabad has been rescheduled and would now take place on September 8.
He revealed that the scheduled rally in Islamabad has been suspended in accordance with PTI founder Imran Khan’s directive. It may be pertinent to mention here that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan announced that the rally had been postponed and would now take place on September 8 in accordance with PTI founder Imran Khan’s directive. “After meeting with the PTI founder in Adiala jail, we decided to postpone the jalsa,” he stated. PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub also confirmed date for the rally was changed on the instruction of Imran Khan.
“We have received information that the government is conspiring to spread anarchy, under the cover of the jalsa,” he maintained.
CM-KP Gandapur in a statement issued here said that PTI is ready to hold a rally in Islamabad, warning that its party workers and supporters should not be pushed to the wall.
Ali Amin Gandapur earlier had said that the party would not try to violate the law on their part but vowed to hold the rally come what may.
It is important to note that Islamabad’s administration had previously decided to deny PTI permission to hold a rally in the federal capital. Despite this, PTI had announced plans to hold a rally at Tarnol Chowk on Peshawar Road at 4:00 PM today.
Chief Minister KP while addressing the media after the cancellation of the PTI rally, stated that the Jalsa was planned to proceed despite the NOC cancellation, but was halted upon the founder’s orders.
Gandapur emphasized that the party’s workers were ready and morale was high, but emphasized the need to avoid situations that could spiral out of control.
He reiterated loyalty to PTI’s founder, saying, “Our leader’s call is supreme, and we are ready to withdraw.”
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of upholding the constitution and law in the country, quoting the PTI founder as saying, “If you stop us, we are still ready to respond to PTI’s call.”
