OICOA celebrates Mohamed Benalilou’s election as vice president of IOI

Executive Secretary OIC Ombudsman Association Almas Ali Jovindah offered his felicitations to its Board Member, H.E. Mohamed Benalilou, Mediator of the Kingdom of Morocco, on being elected as the Vice President of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI).
The election, which took place at the IOI headquarters in Vienna on the 29th of April 2024, witnessed H.E. Benalilou achieving a significant victory with 70 votes, while surpassing other candidates from the United States, South Africa, and New Zealand.
“H.E. Benalilou’s election is a testament to his unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership within the field of ombudsmanship,” remarked Mr. Almas Ali Jovindah, Executive Secretary General of OICOA . “This victory brings immense pride to OICOA and underscores the growing global recognition and respect for the vital work undertaken by the ombudsman institutions within our network.”
Mr. Almas Ali Jovindah stated that the Executive Body of OICOA is particularly thankful to our member institutes from Pakistan for their unwavering support and votes that assured H.E. Benalilou’s success in International Ombudsman Institute’s election.
Jovindah further emphasized the significance of Mohamed Benalilou’s victory for the OICOA. “This achievement underscores the increasing influence of our association in international governance, particularly in areas like promoting good governance practices and championing the advancement and protection of human rights through ombudsman institutions.
The Executive Secretary reaffirmed his commitment to supporting H.E. Benalilou in his capacity as the Vice President of IOI and look forward to fostering further collaborations between OICOA and IOI to enhance the impact and significance of both organizations.
