Efficient utilization of natural resources imperative for economic progress: SCCI

Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Fuad Ishaq stressed effective utilization of natural resources to bring economic prosperity and development in the province.
Speaking during executive meeting of the Pakistan Sports Writers Association Federation held here at the chamber house, Fuad said abundant of natural resources like hydel power generation, gas and oil, marble were existed in Pakistan generally, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which need to be tapped in effective way so that it will bring economic stability and progress and change destine of the people of the province.
The SCCI chief mentioned the business community is in great trouble owing to imposing additional burden of taxes and anti-trader policies/initiatives, consequently, industry, business and trade have immensely slowed down.
The meeting was attended by office bearers of Pakistan Sports Writers Federation from Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with Islamabad.
Fuad urged the government and relevant authorities to revisit policies and make them business and trade-friendly.
Businessmen can support healthy sports activities and players through trade and economic activities that would not enhance economic and trade activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but rest parts of the country and make people’s lives prosper, the SCCI chief said.
Fuad said the business community has played a pivotal role in promotion and uplift of sports.
He termed sportsmen as assets of the nation and we are highly proud that our national heroes’ players promote the soft image of Pakistan in the rest of the world.
The chamber president commented on the significance of sports journalists, stating that sports journalists are playing a proactive role in the popularity of games and players.
He praised the contribution of Sports Journalists in promotion of sports.
On the occasion, he mentioned Arshad Nadeem who won the gold medal in the Paris Olympic and made a new record in Olympic history of Olympic, saying that his success is a new life for Pakistan’s games and players.
Earlier, welcoming office bearers of Sports Writers Federation on land of hospitality Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Fuad Ishaq said Peshawar’s Nahwa Kallay produced seven world champions, which has no example in any part of the world.
