CM-KP launches revamped solar power scheme

Beneficiary families increased to 130,000, Merged Districts to get separate allocation

PESHAWAR
Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur inaugurated the revamped solar scheme, featuring a model design and online application process.
According to an official handout issued here on Wednesday, CM Gandapur has announced that its government will increase in beneficiary poor families from 100,000 to 130,000 and accorded approval to a separate solar scheme for 30,000 poor families belonging to merged districts of the province.
The statement said that priority in the solar provision scheme would be given to feeders with high power losses, backward, and hottest areas.
The solar scheme is a comprehensive package which includes solar panels, wiring, stand, inverter, fans, and bulbs.
The revamped scheme aims to provide sustainable energy solutions to underserved communities, it added.
Earlier this month, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had announced that solar systems will be distributed to impoverished families across the province.
Under this initiative, the provincial government will provide a 2 KW solar system to each eligible family, aiming to alleviate the impact of electricity shortages.
