City Girls College Gulbahar Wins Championship Trophy at Inter-Colleges Women’s Kabaddi Tournament

The Inter-College Women’s Kabaddi Tournament, organized by the Higher Education Department, concluded with a spectacular final in Peshawar. City Girls College Gulbahar emerged victorious, clinching the championship trophy with an outstanding performance. Bacha Khan College secured second place, while Girls College Nahqi took third.
The closing ceremony, graced by the presence of City Girls College Gulbahar’s Principal, Ms. Rabia Sikandar, was a grand affair. She presented trophies to the top teams and lauded the hard work and skills of the players.
A total of six college teams participated in the tournament, delivering intense and thrilling matches. Female athletes showcased remarkable skills in kabaddi, a traditional sport. The event also highlighted the efforts of the Provincial Kabaddi Association Secretary, Syed Sultan Bari, who has been actively conducting training sessions to promote kabaddi in various colleges.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Rabia Sikandar expressed her pride in the players, saying, “This tournament not only provides a platform to polish players’ skills but also instills teamwork and competitive spirit.
I am immensely proud of City Girls College Gulbahar’s achievement and applaud all the teams for their exceptional performances.”
The tournament played a pivotal role in popularizing kabaddi among women and winning hearts with its energetic displays of skill and determination. Events like these are instrumental in encouraging the younger generation to engage in healthy and constructive activities.
Provincial Kabaddi Association Secretary Syed Sultan Bari, in his address, remarked, “Kabaddi is an integral part of our culture, and the participation of women in its promotion is highly commendable. We aim to further expand this sport at the college and university levels to nurture emerging talent.”
Director of Sports, Mr. Arshad Hussain, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of sports for physical and mental well-being. He noted that the involvement of women in such competitions reflects the progressive trajectory of society.
