YPF delegation visits KP Assembly
A delegation of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of the National Assembly visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, where Speaker Babar Saleem Swati warmly welcomed the delegation led by Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar. Upon their arrival, Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar expressed her gratitude to Speaker Babar Saleem Swati for the excellent arrangements and the warm reception.
During the meeting, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati emphasized the need for unity for the survival of Pakistan. He stated that as political workers, it is their responsibility to protect the rights of the people. The Speaker highlighted that the primary role of legislators is to make laws, and when legislation is genuinely done in the national and public interest, Pakistan will naturally move in the right direction.
Speaker Babar Saleem Swati also thanked Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq and National Assembly Officer Shamoon Hashmi for their cooperation in preparing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly Employees Bill for the first time.
The meeting also included discussions on establishing a Young Parliamentarians Forum within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar stated that the purpose of the forum is to empower young parliamentarians to effectively address social and legislative issues. She reiterated that the Young Parliamentarians Forum would provide a crucial platform for addressing youth issues across the country. Furthermore, she announced that by February, Young Parliamentarians Forums would be established in all provinces, followed by a national-level seminar.
The Young Parliamentarians were given a tour of the Assembly Hall, and Special Secretary Syed Waqar Shah briefed them on the historical aspects of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in the Old Jirga Hall. He also informed the members about the Information Technology project, which has made the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly the first paperless assembly in the country.
At the end of the ceremony, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati and Members of the KP Assembly presented gifts to the visiting delegation, and a commemorative group photo was taken.
