SCCI holds flag hoisting ceremony on Independence Day

PESHAWAR
A flag hoisting ceremony was held on the eve of 77th Independence Day at the premises of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Wednesday.
The event was especially attended by Businessman Forum leader and former senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour.
Businessman Forum leader Ilyas Ahmad Bilour and President Fuad Ishaq hoisted the national flag on the building of the chamber.
Sanaullah Khan, senior vice president, Ijaz Khan Afridi, vice president, former presidents Haji Muhammad Afzal, Zulfiqar Ali Khan, former SVP Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, former vice president Javed Akhtar, member of the chamber’ executive committee Qurtul Ain, Monawar Khurshid, and Ihsanullah, Imtiaz Ali Ahmad, Syed Ejaz Ali Shah, Aftab Iqbal, Saddar Gul, Faiz Rasool, Fazl e Wahid, Zafarullah Shinwari, Aqeel Kayani, SCCI’ Secretary General Muqtasid Ahsan, Secretary Sohail Anjum, member of business community and staffers were in attendance in a large number.
In the event, a great national enthusiasm and fervour was demonstrated by participants and congratulated the whole nation on eve of 77th Independence Day.
The speakers prayed for country solidarity, integrity, peace and prosperity on the occasion. They also paid glowing tribute to sacrifices of forefathers and armed forces for a separate motherland, because today, we are living as an independent nation, he added.
During the ceremony, the FC band presented a march past to BF leader Ilyas Ahmad Bilour and President Fuad Ishaq. National songs were played on multiple-media giant screen to the occasion.
BF leader Ilyas Ahmad Bilour and President Fuad Ishaq felicitated the whole nation on 77th Independence Day and celebrated the day with national zeal and zest.
They said the day of August 14 reminded us about the commitment to give sacrifices for economic development, stability and peace and prosperity of the country.
The speakers vowed to follow the motto of the founding father of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, “Unity, Faith and Discipline”.
Fuad Ishaq said the country will put on a path of development and sustainable progress by following the quotes of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
He advised the youth to do hard work for construction and development of the country and render every sacrifice for the motherland.
BF leader Ilyas Bilour also spoke on the occasion and said our forefathers gave unmatched sacrifices for the creation of a separate homeland. He stressed upon all segments to join hands for the country’s solidarity, integrity and stability and progress.
