Trials for Women team for KP U-23 Inter-Region Games completed

The trial to select women teams for the forthcoming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U-23 Inter-Region Games has been completed wherein players from all Districts affiliated with Peshawar Regions including Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mohmand and Khyber participated here on Wednesday at different venues.
Regional Sports Officer Kashif Farhan, District Sports Officer Miss Gul Rukh, District Sports Officer Charsada Mishal Malik, Cricket Coordinator of Pakistan Cricket Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haseena Khushboo, Level-III Coach Pakistan Cricket Board Hajra Sarwar, Coach Salma Faiz, Miss Madiha (Volleyball). Miss Bushra (Badminton), Miss Amna (Table Tennis), Miss Suriya and Miss Nousheen (Hockey), Munawar Zaman, Tahir Iqbal, Muhammad Waseem (Squash), Zaafran Afridi and Abid Nazim (Athletics), Irfan Babu and Parvez Khan (Cricket) performed their duties as selectors and supervised the trials at different venues.
Evaluating the performance of the visiting players during the trials, the selectors have been told by Additional Director General and Chairman Organizing Committee Miss Rashida Ghaznavi to select players on merits and merits only.
Kashif Farhan said on this occasion that he would announce the final teams by May 27 so that no best player is left out of the team selection for any reason. He further said that the trials were held in a pleasant environment.
Athletics trials were held at Hayatabad Sports Complex, while badminton, table tennis, cricket, volleyball, judo and hockey trials were held at Peshawar Sports Complex. He said a total of 56 female athletes, 57 in hockey, 71 in volleyball, 30 in badminton, 22 in table tennis, 19 in judo and 41 in athletics participated in the trials.
He said as the 11th and 12th Grade Exams are also about to start at this time, efforts are being made to continue these camps from 25th to 27th so that the players get good and best opportunities to play. Likewise, the selection committee will also get an opportunity to test all the players well so that the best players can be selected for the different teams of Peshawar region.
He said that the effort was made to give full opportunity at every venue so that no talented player is left out of the selection. He added that we will try so that the players of Peshawar region can show their best game.
Talking to APP, Pakistan Cricket Board Level-III coach Hajra Sarwar said that the U19 Women Cricket Championship will be held in September this year and through this Inter-Regional Games good opportunities are in hand to see good talented cricket for their further selection for the camp under Pakistan Cricket Board.
Cricket Coordinator Pakistan Cricket Board Haseena Khushboo said that she would try to hold the camp soon after and should provide due opportunities to the girls players to show their hidden talent. He said six Regional teams would be short-listed for the PCB U19 Cricket Championship.
District Sports Officer Peshawar Miss Gul Rukh on this occasion said that all out facilities would be ensured to the players of Peshawar Region to play with free hands. She said the games are vital for the women players. She said the KP govt initiated equal opportunities for both female and male and the same direction is for us and we are working on it.
