Chitral Economic Zone celebrates inauguration of industrial facilitation office building

Chitral: The Chitral Economic Zone (Chitral EZ) marked a significant milestone with the completion of its development works and the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Industrial Facilitation Office Building. The distinguished Chief Guest for the event was the Caretaker Minister for Tribal Affairs, Industries, Commerce, and Technical Education of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (GoKP), Syed Aamer Abdullah.
The Chief Executive Officer of KPEZDMC and senior management welcomed the Caretaker Minister Syed Aamer Abdullah. The CEO provided an insightful briefing to the Chief Guest, outlining the comprehensive master plan of the Chitral EZ.
The highlight of the ceremony included the unveiling of plaques commemorating the successful completion of the development works in the Chitral EZ and the inauguration of the Industrial Facilitation Office Building. The Chitral EZ, sprawling across 40 acres, was developed over a span of two years. The event was attended by the industrial investors, local chamber and trade body representatives and senior Local Government officials.
The completed infrastructure development works within the zone encompassed roads, drains, water supply, retaining walls, and the impressive office building. Additionally, 1.72 acres of land has been acquired, reflecting the overwhelming response and interest from potential investors.
The Chitral EZ upon full colonization is expected to generate a substantial number of employment opportunities, making a significant contribution to the local economy. The zone’s rapid development aligns with the broader goals of fast-paced industrialization throughout the province.
Chitral Economic Zone boasts high growth potential due to its accessibility through the Lowari Tunnel, situated along an alternative route of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This alternative route witnesses’ massive inflows of tourists each year, making Chitral EZ strategically positioned for economic success.
The Chitral Economic Zone is specifically designed to accommodate a variety of industries, making it an ideal destination for businesses looking to thrive in the region. Key sectors suitable for investment in the Chitral EZ include Marble industries, Industry for Embroidery & Knitting, Handicrafts Development, Readymade garments, Furniture, Food, Cold storages

Chitral Economic Zone’s positive impact extends beyond its borders, contributing to the economic development of adjoining areas such as Lower Dir and Upper Dir. Minister Syed Aamer Abdullah expressed his admiration for the hard work and dedication exhibited by the KPEZDMC management.
