Preparations for National Marathon Race at Peshawar are completed, DG Sports Nasir

Under the auspices of the Director of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the occasion of Pakistan Defense Day on September 6, athletes from all over the country will participate in the National Marathon Race Peshawar.
The registration process for the race will continue till September 6. Cash prizes of one million rupees will be distributed among the winners of the registered race. On the occasion of the opening ceremony, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur will be the chief guest, while on the occasion of the closing ceremony; Sports Adviser Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Fakhr e Jehan will distribute the prizes among the winners.
To review the marathon race arrangements, Director General Sports KP, Abdul Nasir Khan inspected the track along with CEO Trans Peshawar. Deputy Director Operations Jamshed Baloch and Organizing Secretary Syed Jafar Shah were also present on this occasion.
According to Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Abdul Nasir Khan, National Marathon Race is being organized for the first time in history of Peshawar on the occasion of Defense Day under the management of Provincial Sports Directorate. The race is being organized by the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, in which athletes from across the country will participate.
Syed Jaffar Shah has been appointed as the organizing secretary for this important event, while this race is being held on the BRT track for the first time. Various committees have been formed to organize the event.
The race will start from Chamkani, Business Center at 9:30 PM and will end at Hayatabad Sports Complex in the evening. Prizes of Rs one million will be distributed among the top 23 players. The top position holder will be awarded Rs 3 laks, the second position holder Rs 2 laks, while the third position holder get Rs 1 laks.
Apart from this, the other top 20 players will also be given various prizes and cash awards.
The Pakistan Athletics Federation will also supervise all the technical aspects of the race. The distance of the marathon race will be 25 km. Athletes from all over the country including the department will participate in the race.
