EC gives assurance to IHC for holding LB polls in Islamabad on Sep 29
ISLAMABAD
Election Commission (EC) has given assurance to Islamabad High Court (IHC) for holding Local Bodies (LB) polls in Islamabad on September 29. This assurance was given to IHC on Wednesday.
IHC ordered the respondents to file parawise comments in details in the court.
All the relevant petitions were clubbed.
The court inquired what is status of EC.
EC authorities replied this is process of four months.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani heard the case pertaining to LB polls in Islamabad.
During the course of hearing of the case EC authorities gave assurance to hold LB polls on September 29. Amendment in Election act is necessary in connection with election. The matters related to reserved seats are not clear so far. The notification will be issued in next weeks.
The court remarked hearing will take place after vacations. If any problem comes then CM be filed.
Complete report of income and expenses of MCI was filed in the court.
IHC ordered the respondents should file detailed para wise comments in the court.
All the relevant petitions were clubbed,.
The hearing of the case was adjourned till October 15.
