{"id":99490,"date":"2026-06-24T12:29:04","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T07:29:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=99490"},"modified":"2026-06-24T12:29:04","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T07:29:04","slug":"what-uks-change-of-guard-means-for-middle-east-ties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/what-uks-change-of-guard-means-for-middle-east-ties\/","title":{"rendered":"What UK\u2019s change of guard means for Middle East ties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: It is a measure of the importance that successive UK governments have placed on close economic and political ties with the Gulf, to say nothing of Britain\u2019s historic connections to the region, that since 2007 and the premiership of Gordon Brown, British prime ministers have paid no fewer than 34 official visits to the Gulf states \u2014 three more than the total number of trips made to the US in that time.<\/p>\n<p>With 11 visits, Saudi Arabia has been the most popular Gulf Cooperation Council destination for British prime ministers.
