\nThe third meeting of the Oversight and Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Committee of the *Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) was held at the Committee Room of the Workers Welfare Fund, Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Farrukh Shehzad.
\nThe meeting was attended by Ms. Azra Jamali, Joint Secretary; Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed, Secretary, Workers Welfare Fund; Mr. Danish Afzal*, Secretary, Labour and Human Resource Department, Punjab; Mr. Saleh Muhammad Nasar, Secretary, Labour Department, Balochistan; the Secretary, Workers Welfare Board, Balochistan; Captain (Retd.) Mian Adil Iqbal*, Secretary, Labour Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Mr. Sheikh Mohsin Ilyas, Mr. Zahid Hussain Bhutto, Mr. Pir Muhammad Kakar, and other distinguished members of the Committee.
\nIn accordance with the meeting agenda, the Committee conducted a detailed review of proposals regarding the monetization of educational facilities provided to children under the Workers Welfare Fund, including textbooks, uniforms, stationery, transportation, and stipends, as well as proposals for enhancing financial assistance. After considering recommendations from the Provincial Workers Welfare Boards and other relevant institutions, the Committee agreed that, wherever justified and required, these benefits and financial assistance should be appropriately enhanced to ensure better educational opportunities for the children of industrial workers.
\nThe Committee made several important decisions concerning the welfare of workers and their children, which are expected to benefit thousands of industrial workers\u2019 families across the country.
\nThe participants reaffirmed their commitment to making the Workers Welfare Fund\u2019s educational schemes more effective, transparent, and people-centric.
\nThe meeting also held a detailed discussion on the vision of the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, to enroll 100,000 children of industrial workers in quality schools during the current year.
\nThe Committee unanimously appreciated this vision and expressed its full support for its successful implementation.
\nIt was decided that a comprehensive and practical roadmap would be presented in the next meeting to translate the Federal Minister\u2019s national vision into reality and ensure that the maximum number of workers\u2019 children gain access to quality education.
\nThe Committee further decided that, prior to the next meeting of the Governing Body, all relevant proposals would be thoroughly reviewed and finalized as practical, well-considered, and consensus-based recommendations for approval. The Committee reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all decisions are based on practical needs, financial sustainability, and the best interests of workers, thereby facilitating their timely and effective implementation following approval.
\nAt the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Mr. Farrukh Shehzad thanked all participants for their valuable contributions and expressed confidence that, through close coordination between the Federal Government and the Provinces, further improvements would be made in the educational and welfare facilities available to workers\u2019 children.
