\nMinister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has appreciated Chinese multinational manufacturing company BYD\u2019s growing footprint in Pakistan. He was talking to a delegation of BYD Group and Mega Motor Company (MMC) in Islamabad Thursday.
\nThe Minister underscored the importance of strengthening business-to-business collaboration as a key pillar of the evolving Pakistan-China economic partnership.
\nWelcoming the delegation, he noted that Pakistan attaches high priority to attracting technology-driven investments.
\nThe Finance Minister expressed the confidence that the BYD-MMC joint venture would contribute significantly to industrial development, technology transfer, job creation and export growth.
\nReaffirming the Government\u2019s support for the EV sector, he encouraged the delegation to accelerate efforts towards local assembly, manufacturing and charging infrastructure development, noting that the availability of a robust charging network would be critical to expediting the adoption of electric vehicles across the country.
\nMuhammad Aurangzeb also highlighted the significant contribution of Chinese enterprises to Pakistan\u2019s industrial development and expressed confidence that the BYD-MMC partnership would further deepen economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
\nBriefing the Finance Minister, Vice President of BYD Group and General Manager, Mr. Liu Xueliang, highlighted the company\u2019s progress in introducing new energy vehicle technologies to the local market in partnership with Mega Motor Company.
\nHe appreciated the Government of Pakistan\u2019s support for the development of the electric vehicle (EV) sector saying that construction of the company\u2019s local manufacturing facility is progressing according to schedule.
\nHe shared BYD\u2019s plans to expand its product portfolio, accelerate localization, introduce advanced charging technologies and contribute to the development of Pakistan\u2019s EV ecosystem through investment, technology transfer and capacity building.
\nThe meeting also featured a discussion on the future role of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in Pakistan.
\nPlans to develop charging infrastructure in collaboration with local partners and to train Pakistani engineers and technicians to support the EV sector\u2019s future growth were also shared in the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
