\nPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while terming the pace deal between US and Iran a historical milestone for world peace has said today is day of pride for Pakistanis living across the world.
\nWorld has crossed a historical milestone of peace. Sun of peace has risen after dark night of war, he said this while addressing National Assembly (NA) Monday.
\nUS and Iran have announced permanent ceasefire on all fronts after 3 months and 16 days.
\nHe said the formal signing ceremony will be held in Geneva, with Pakistan serving as the host country. He congratulated the people of Pakistan as well as the international community, and extended greetings to all members of parliament and political leaders.
\nShehbaz Sharif described the agreement as a victory of diplomacy and dialogue over conflict and war, saying it goes beyond a bilateral deal and represents the success of peaceful engagement. He thanked political leadership including Nawaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto for their support.
\nThe prime minister also congratulated US President Donald Trump, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, noting the role of negotiating teams who showed patience and wisdom during difficult times. He acknowledged the contribution of Qatar\u2019s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad in facilitating the process.
\nHe further expressed gratitude to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying their support helped ensure the success of the diplomatic effort.
\nShehbaz Sharif said Field Marshal Asim Munir\u2019s role could not be overlooked, adding that he worked continuously to ease tensions and support peace efforts during a critical period.
\nHe also welcomed the Iranian ambassador to the National Assembly, calling the moment a matter of pride for Pakistan.
