He noted that consistency in policy direction is essential for rebuilding confidence in Pakistan’s economic outlook.
He added that while businesses always expect greater relief measures, the current budget reflects ground realities and the constraints of ongoing international financial commitments. According to him, stability at this stage is more important for long-term economic revival than short-term populist measures.
Syed Maaz said the budget introduces measures that aim to broaden the tax base, improve documentation and strengthen revenue collection mechanisms. He noted that these steps, if implemented effectively, can help reduce dependence on a narrow tax base and improve fiscal sustainability.
He further stated that the government’s focus on maintaining macroeconomic targets is a positive development, as it supports negotiations with international financial institutions and helps ensure continuity of economic programmes.
Maaz Mahmood observed that investor sentiment is closely linked to policy predictability. They appreciated efforts aimed at improving tax administration and expanding documentation, saying these measures are essential for long-term structural improvement.
He said that while energy costs and taxation remain concerns for the business community, stability in macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, exchange rate and fiscal deficit is equally important for sustaining industrial activity.
The APBF leader urged the government to continue engaging with the private sector to refine policies during implementation. They emphasized that consultation with stakeholders can help address sector-specific challenges and improve policy effectiveness.
Maaz Mahmood also called for special attention to export-oriented industries and SMEs, suggesting that targeted incentives and facilitation measures could further strengthen production capacity and job creation.

ISLAMABAD The All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF) has welcomed the federal budget FY2026-27, terming it a balanced and stability-oriented financial plan that reflects a serious effort to strengthen macroeconomic discipline while maintaining continuity in economic reforms and improving investor confidence.
