\nGulf countries have condemned renewed Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain earlier on Wednesday. Saudi Arabia\u2019s Mohammed bin Salman\u2019s office responded with a post hours after Iran\u2019s attacks that targeted Bahrain and Kuwait.
\nBader Al Asaker, head of the private office of Saudi Arabia\u2019s Crown Prince, said in a post on X.com: \u201cO God, protect our people in Kuwait and Bahrain and safeguard our Gulf from all evil.\u201d The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs also strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.
\nIn a statement, the ministry affirmed that these attacks constitute a flagrant violation to the two countries\u2019 sovereignty and a breach of international law. UAE presidential advisor Anwar Gargash called for a firm and unified Gulf stance against repeated Iranian aggression.
\n\u201cIn light of the repeated Iranian aggression against the sisterly State of Kuwait and Kingdom of Bahrain, there must be a firm, unified, and cohesive Gulf stance,\u201d Anwar Gargash wrote on X. \u201cNo Gulf state should be left to face the targeting alone, as the security of Arab Gulf states is interconnected, their interests are shared, and their fate is one.\u201d
\nIran on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the new attacks targeting US military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain, including the headquarters of the US Fifth FleetKuwait said it suspended flights at the Kuwait International Airport after its building suffered \u2018significant material damage\u2019 because of the \u2018criminal Iranian aggression.
\n\u2019Kuwait said on Wednesday an Iranian attack targeting its international airport killed at least one person and wounded others, even as it condemned Tehran\u2019s latest barrage of drone and missile attacks against it. Iran\u2019s latest attack, \u201ctargeting once again civilian and vital facilities, including Kuwait International Airport, resulting in the death of one individual, injuries to others, and damage to vital facilities, including diplomatic missions,\u201d Kuwait\u2019s foreign ministry said.
\nKuwait\u2019s civil aviation authority said air traffic have been suspended and flights were diverted to alternative airports until further noticeHostilities between Iran and the United States escalated sharply on Wednesday as Iran claimed responsibility for attacks on US military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain, including the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, while Washington reported intercepting missiles launched toward regional allies and carrying out retaliatory strikes.
\nIran\u2019s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said it had launched missiles and drones against the US Fifth Fleet headquarters, an airbase and helicopters in a Gulf country in response to what it described as a US attack on a communications tower south of Qeshm Island. Iranian media also reported that the IRGC Navy targeted a vessel identified as Panaya with missiles after accusing US forces of striking an Iranian tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, damaging its engine room.
