{"id":98474,"date":"2026-06-03T10:29:02","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T05:29:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=98474"},"modified":"2026-06-03T10:29:02","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T05:29:02","slug":"pm-directs-sectoral-reforms-to-boost-exports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/pm-directs-sectoral-reforms-to-boost-exports\/","title":{"rendered":"PM directs sectoral reforms to boost exports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed all ministries to ensure meaningful expert consultation for modern technologies\u2019 integration across various sectors of the economy.<br \/>\nChairing a high-level review meeting on policy measures and reforms aimed at boosting investment and overall economic growth, the prime minister said that the promotion of industry and skilled trades, along with enhanced foreign investment, was indispensable for the country\u2019s economic progress.<br \/>\nPrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the need for sectoral reforms, industrial growth and increased foreign investment to ensure sustainable economic development, saying that long-term economic policies must remain focused on public welfare and national prosperity.<br \/>\nHe emphasized that effective policy interventions to increase domestic production and expand exports were among the government\u2019s key priorities. \u201cIndustrial products must contribute not only to increased local manufacturing but also to higher export volumes,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nThe prime minister directed that reforms across the industrial, commercial and economic sectors should be designed with a focus on long-term economic benefits and public welfare. He also highlighted the government\u2019s efforts to formulate a comprehensive strategy for meeting future energy requirements through alternative and renewable energy sources.<br \/>\nAddressing the transportation and energy sectors, Shehbaz Sharif said that a comprehensive and effective electric vehicles policy was the need of the hour to promote energy conservation and provide affordable transport solutions to the public.<br \/>\nHe instructed all ministries to ensure meaningful consultation with experts to facilitate the integration of modern technologies across various sectors of the economy.<br \/>\nStressing the importance of inter-ministerial coordination, the prime minister said all ministries should work closely together to formulate and implement effective development policies.<br \/>\nThe premier further stated that transparency in governance and optimum performance in all reform initiatives remained among the government\u2019s foremost priorities.<br \/>\nDuring the meeting, relevant ministries briefed participants on various policy proposals currently under consideration.<br \/>\nThe meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Economic Affairs Minister Ahsan Iqbal Cheema, Information Minister, Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik, Power Minister Awais Leghari, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar, Director General of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) Major General Asad Cheema, and senior officials from relevant institutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed all ministries to ensure meaningful expert consultation for modern technologies\u2019 integration across various sectors of the economy.
