\nDeputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar invited overseas Pakistanis to invest in the country and said Pakistan attained a distinguished position in the world after becoming a nuclear power on May 28, 1998.
\nSpeaking at an Eid gathering of the Pakistani-American community in New York, Dar said May holds special significance in Pakistan\u2019s history for several reasons. Dar said Pakistan was now playing an active and constructive role for regional and global peace. He said the country possessed immense potential and its best days lay ahead. He added that Pakistan also gave a firm response to Indian aggression in May 2025.
\nAccording to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Mr Dar told the Eid dinner gathering that the government aimed to improve living standards through sustainable development. He said the next phase of progress would be achieved by increasing national exports.
\nMr Dar also described the Pakistani-American community and overseas Pakistanis as the country\u2019s greatest asset.
\nThe deputy prime minister will travel from New York to Washington in the second phase of his visit on Thursday. According to the Foreign Office, Mr Dar is also scheduled to meet US Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Marco Rubio in Washington.
\nThe meeting will discuss bilateral relations, regional and global developments, and matters of mutual interest. Pakistan\u2019s efforts and achievements in promoting regional peace and stability through negotiations and diplomacy will also come under discussion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
