Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday met Jonathan Powell, the UK\u2019s National Security Adviser, here at the Prime Minister House.
\nDeputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, SAPM Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch and Secretary National Security Division Mr. Sajid Baloch were also present, a Prime Minister\u2019s Office news release said.
\nDuring the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s firm commitment and resolve to maintain robust and forward-looking engagement with the United Kingdom, a longstanding strategic partner. While conveying his best wishes for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister recalled the warm and cordial telephone conversation between the two leaders last month, wherein they had expressed a shared desire to further strengthen Pakistan-UK ties.
\nPowell conveyed the appreciation of the King\u2019s Government for Pakistan\u2019s constructive role in regional diplomacy, including its ongoing efforts to facilitate dialogue and de-escalation in the broader region.
