Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said here on Friday that conducting a series of single-country \u201cMade in Pakistan\u201d exhibitions across different regions of the world can play a vital role in promoting Pakistani products in the international market and enhancing it\u2019s export potential.
\nTalking to furniture manufacturers\u2019 delegation led by Mian Kashif Ashfaq, Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC), the Governor said Pakistan possesses immense industrial and creative potential, particularly in the furniture sector, which is capable of earning valuable foreign exchange. Pakistani furniture products, he said, are gaining recognition due to their quality craftsmanship, elegant designs and use of durable materials. He added local furniture industry has the potential to successfully compete in international markets, if provided with proper marketing opportunities, modern technology and policy support.
\nSardar Saleem Haider Khan stressed the need for public-private partnership to strengthen industrial growth and encourage exports. He said organizing exclusive \u201cMade in Pakistan\u201d exhibitions in various countries would help introduce foreign buyers and investors to high-quality Pakistani products, especially furniture, handicrafts, and home decor items.He appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Furniture Council in promoting this vital sector through exhibitions, training programmes and awareness initiatives. He assured the delegation of his full support for measures aimed at increasing exports and facilitating local manufacturers.
\nOn this occasion, Mian Kashif Ashfaq said the furniture industry is contributing significantly to the national economy and providing employment opportunities to thousands of skilled workers and artisans across the country.
