\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, while speaking to media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, said Pakistan was facing serious political, economic and constitutional challenges, including rising debt and weakening institutional stability.
\nHe stated that the country\u2019s internal and external debt had reached Rs81 trillion, pushing the economy into deeper crisis. He further said that despite thousands of intelligence-based operations, terrorism had not been effectively controlled, indicating failures in security policy.
\nThe Chief Minister also said that growing uncertainty was forcing youth to seek opportunities abroad and discouraging investment in the country.
\nHe criticised the federal government for focusing on restricting meetings with PTI founding chairman Imran Khan instead of addressing public issues, economic recovery and security concerns.
\nAfridi alleged that court-ordered meetings with Imran Khan\u2019s family, lawyers and party leaders were being blocked, and claimed that access to independent medical consultation was also being restricted. He termed these actions a violation of constitutional and legal rights.
\nReferring to political and judicial matters, he said weakening of institutions and non-implementation of court decisions had reduced public access to justice. He also cited incidents of violence against protesters in different parts of the country, saying such actions reflected intolerance toward dissent.
\nHe reiterated that PTI would continue its political struggle through constitutional and democratic means, and praised party workers facing imprisonment and hardships, calling them committed to the party\u2019s cause of constitutional supremacy and rule of law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
