\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah on Tuesday directed all concerned departments to finalize arrangements for the Shandur Polo Festival at the earliest, scheduled to be held from June 11 to 13 at the Shandur Polo Ground.
\nHe issued these instructions while chairing a high-level meeting on preparations for the festival, attended by senior officials including Secretary Finance Kamran Afridi, Secretary Tourism Saadat Hassan and others, said a handout.
\nThe meeting was briefed in detail on ongoing arrangements by the KP Culture and Tourism Authority.
\nThe Chief Secretary instructed all departments to improve coordination and expedite work on access roads leading to Shandur. He directed the NHA to ensure the timely availability of heavy machinery in areas affected by flash floods.
\nHe stressed close coordination with Gilgit-Baltistan authorities to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the festival.
\nShahab Ali Shah further directed that road construction and maintenance work in Upper and Lower Chitral be accelerated, and ordered the installation of a temporary bridge at Shehdas until a permanent structure was completed to facilitate public movement.
