\nUnited States President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was \u201cnot satisfied\u201d with Iran\u2019s latest proposal in negotiations to end the war between the countries.
\n\u201cThey want to make a deal, I\u2019m not satisfied with it, so we\u2019ll see what happens,\u201d Trump told reporters at the White House.
\nTrump did not elaborate on what he sees as the proposal\u2019s shortcomings.
\nThe president said negotiations continued by phone after he called off his envoys\u2019 trip to Pakistan last week. He expressed frustration with Iran\u2019s leadership, which he described as fractured.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s a very disjointed leadership,\u201d he said. \u201cThey all want to make a deal, but they\u2019re all messed up.\u201d
\nHe further said that he had \u201cgreat respect\u201d for Pakistan, Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir.
\nTrump added that Pakistan was \u201ccontinuing to worh with us\u201d in the negotiation process.
\nIranian state media reported earlier that Iran submitted its latest proposal for negotiations with the US to mediator Pakistan.
\nIRNA reported that according to its foreign policy correspondent, the country \u201cdelivered the text of its latest negotiation plan to Pakistan on Thursday evening, May 10, as a mediator in negotiations with the US\u201d.
\nThe White House said it would not detail private diplomatic conversations when asked about Iran\u2019s new proposal.
