ISLAMABAD
\nThe Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has recorded Rs1210 billion in savings inflows from July 1 to April 10 of the ongoing fiscal year 2025\u201326, marking 76.92% of its annual target and signaling continued growth in the country\u2019s savings culture.
\nOfficials said the CDNS has set an overall inflow target of Rs1.3 trillion for the current fiscal year. The strong performance in the first nine months reflects rising public confidence and participation in national savings schemes.
\nThe directorate has also earmarked Rs 50 billion for investments in Islamic savings instruments during FY2025\u201326, aiming to promote Shariah-compliant financial products and support the expansion of the Islamic economy.
\nHighlighting past performance, a senior official noted that CDNS had set a target of Rs 1.65 trillion for FY2024\u201325, including Rs 170 billion for Islamic finance investments, to further strengthen savings habits and diversify financial offerings.
\nIn FY2023\u201324, CDNS surpassed its target by mobilizing Rs 1.742 trillion in fresh bonds against a goal of Rs 1.7 trillion, reflecting strong investor trust. The organization also met its Rs 1.6 trillion target in FY2022\u201323, outperforming earlier benchmarks. For FY2021\u201322, the initial target of Rs 1.3 trillion was later revised upward to Rs 1.4 trillion in response to favorable market trends and efforts to enhance savings mobilization.
