KYIV: The \u200cUkrainian military is participating in consultations on the Strait of Hormuz, President Volodymyr Zelensky said \u200bon Tuesday, adding that Ukraine\u2019s maritime defense expertise is also of interest in Asia.<\/p>\n
Kyiv sent several hundred specialists to the Middle East in the wake of the war in Iran, aiming to share its \u200cbattle-tested approach in \u200cdowning Iranian drones, \u200bwhich \u200cRussia \u2060used \u200bin the early \u2060years of its full-scale invasion.<\/p>\n
\u201cUkrainian military personnel are taking part in consultations on the further operation of the Strait of Hormuz. Safe navigation is a global value; we know \u2060this from our experience defending \u200cthe Black Sea,\u201d \u200cZelensky said in his evening \u200baddress.<\/p>\n
Throughout the \u200cwar, Ukraine foiled Russian attempts to \u200cfully block its access to the Black Sea, critical for the country\u2019s economy and military.<\/p>\n
Having no powerful fleet of its \u200cown but relying on innovations, such as naval drones, it forced \u2060Russia\u2019s \u2060Black Sea fleet out of its home base in Moscow-occupied Crimea.<\/p>\n
Zelensky added that interest in Ukraine\u2019s military technology \u2014 at times more advanced and way cheaper than traditional weapons \u2014 now goes beyond Europe.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur diplomats have received a corresponding request from Asian countries, and I have instructed them \u200bto work \u200bthrough all this promptly,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
