\nIn its live blog, the outlet said that as per three senior Iranian officials, \u201cIran has stopped negotiation efforts with the United States, informing Pakistan that it would no longer engage in cease-fire talks.\u201d
\nEarlier, US President Donald Trump threatened to eliminate the \u201cwhole civilisation\u201d of Iran tonight amid a breakdown in talks to resolve the crisis in the Middle East.
\nIn a post on Truth Social, Trump said: \u201cA whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don\u2019t want that to happen, but it probably will. \nMeanwhile, explosions were heard on Iran\u2019s Kharg Island in the Gulf following US-Israeli airstrikes, Iranian media reported. Mehr News Agency said US and Israeli warplanes carried out several airstrikes on the island, causing multiple explosions.
\nNo details were yet available about casualties or damage.
\nIran earlier attacked \u200ba petrochemical \u200bcomplex in Saudi Arabia\u2019s Jubail \u200bindustrial city, \u200blocated in the Eastern province, Iran\u2019s \u200bsemi-official \u200bFars news agency said.
\nThe \u200cSaudi government communications office, state oil giant \u200bAramco \u200band its petrochemicals subsidiary \u200bSABIC did \u200bnot immediately respond to requests for \u200bcomment.
\nMeanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Tuesday that \u201c14 million Iranians have registered to sacrifice their lives to defend Iran.\u201d \u201cI too have been, am, and will remain devoted to giving my life for Iran,\u201d he stated in a post on X.

\nThe UN Security Council is set to vote on Tuesday for a resolution addressing Iran\u2019s threats to the Strait of Hormuz, diplomatic sources told AFP.
\nThe latest draft, seen by AFP, demands Iran end its attacks on commercial vessels and halt \u201cany attempt to impede transit passage or freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz\u201d.
