\nIn a significant move toward smarter urban management, the Capital Development Authority is leveraging modern technology in its plantation campaign, ensuring that QR-coded trees are continuously tracked and protected, contributing both to ecological sustainability and the city\u2019s beautification.
\nCapital Development Authority (CDA) DG Environment Awais Tarar, while speaking to a private news channel, highlighted the authority\u2019s innovative approach to urban forestry, emphasizing the use of QR code technology for smart tree monitoring.
\nHe stated that each tree planted across the capital city was digitally tagged and regularly tracked to ensure its survival and growth. \u201cThis system allows us to maintain detailed records of every tree and monitor their health, making urban forestry management more efficient and transparent,\u201d he added.
\nDG Tarar further shared that the Chairman of CDA has issued strict directives to strengthen the tree protection framework. These include not only the adoption of technology-driven monitoring but also strict enforcement against any illegal cutting or felling of trees.
\nThe chairman has emphasized that preserving urban greenery is a top priority and all stakeholders, including field staff and citizens, must cooperate to maintain the city\u2019s green cover.
\nHe also mentioned that CDA has launched awareness campaigns in coordination with local authorities to educate the public about the importance of tree protection. \u201cThe chairman has instructed that any violations, including unauthorized cutting or damage to trees, will be met with immediate legal action.
