\nSecurity forces killed five terrorists belonging to the Indian-backed group Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), the military\u2019s media wing said on Sunday.
\nAccording to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted the IBO on March 15 after receiving reports of the terrorists\u2019 presence in the area.
\n\u201cDuring the conduct of the operation, our troops effectively engaged the Khawarij location, and after an intense exchange of fire, five Khawarij were neutralised,\u201d the statement said.
\nIt added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists, who had been actively involved in numerous attacks in the region.
\nThe ISPR further said a sanitisation operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khawarij in the area as part of the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision \u201cAzm-e-Istehkam.\u201d
\n\u201cSecurity forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,\u201d the statement concluded.
\nPresident Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for a successful operation.
\nIn an official statement, PM Shehbaz lauded the forces for their professionalism and bravery, and said that under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, Pakistan\u2019s security forces are achieving significant successes against terrorism. \u201cThe entire nation stands with Pakistan\u2019s armed forces in this fight against terrorism,\u201d he added.
\nThe prime minister emphasised the government\u2019s commitment to eliminating all forms of terrorism from the country.
\nMeanwhile, President Zardari said the terrorists were operating with Indian backing and were engaged in attempts to destabilise Pakistan\u2019s peace. \u201cThe nation is united with our security forces in eradicating terrorism sponsored by foreign powers,\u201d he said.
\nInterior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the forces for their professionalism and bravery. \u201cThe nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our security forces,\u201d he said.
\nWarning the perpetrators and their backers, Nagvi added, \u201cThe fate of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists is a lesson in death. We will not spare the terrorists or those who support them in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
