A high-level meeting to review the overall law and order situation in the province was held at the Chief Minister\u2019s House on Monday, with Muhammad Sohail Afridi in the chair.
\nThe meeting undertook a comprehensive review of the prevailing security environment, counterterrorism measures and arrangements for the protection of citizens\u2019 lives and property.
\nThe meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Additional Inspector General Counter Terrorism Department and Additional Inspector General Special Branch, according to an official statement.
\nThe Chief Minister directed all relevant authorities to ensure protection of life and property under all circumstances, warning that any lapse or negligence in this regard would be unacceptable.
\nHe instructed officials to put in place comprehensive and well-coordinated security arrangements for prayers and religious gatherings during the holy month of Ramazan.
\nHighlighting the role of police in maintaining public safety, Mr Afridi said the force remained at the forefront of the province\u2019s counterterrorism efforts and reaffirmed the provincial government\u2019s continued support.
\nHe said all required resources would be provided to police on a priority basis to further strengthen their operational capacity.
\nThe Chief Minister also directed the authorities concerned to operate under a clearly defined and results-oriented security strategy, ensuring optimal and efficient utilisation of available resources.
\nHe stressed that all relevant institutions must remain vigilant and maintain a high level of operational preparedness to respond effectively to any untoward incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
