\nPresident Nicusor Dan will take part in the European Council meeting in Brussels on Thursday and Friday, the Presidential Administration announced. EU leaders will hold strategic talks on Ukraine, the EU\u2019s next long-term budget, enlargement, and the bloc\u2019s economic situation.
\nDiscussions will also cover the Middle East, European defence and migration. A key focus of the meeting will be the latest developments in Ukraine and actions the EU needs to take urgently. Leaders will discuss how to meet Ukraine\u2019s financial needs for 2026 and 2027, including support for military and defence efforts.
\nThey will also talk about security guarantees for Ukraine and diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace. EU leaders will assess ways to strengthen Ukraine\u2019s position in negotiations, increase pressure on Russia, and protect Europe\u2019s interests.
\nThe European Council said the EU has stood by Ukraine since the start of Russia\u2019s war, providing total support of 187.5 billion euros so far, including 66 billion euros in military aid.
