The Chief Minister also approved 1,820 million rupees for infrastructure and 904.7 million rupees for motor vehicles.<br \/>\nThe 98 vehicles and 404 motorcycles required by the Special Branch will be provided on a priority basis, said Suhail Afridi.<br \/>\nHe said an amount of 2,543.9 million rupees will be provided for the purchase of technical equipment and technology.<br \/>\nThe Special Branch will be developed along modern lines in accordance with intelligence and counter-terrorism requirements.<br \/>\nThe police are a key pillar in the war against terrorism and all resources will be provided to enhance the capacity of the Special Branch, said Suhail Afridi.<br \/>\nThe Chief Minister directed that the proposed allowances for the Special Branch be submitted for approval on a priority basis.<br \/>\nApproval was also given for establishing new buildings for the Special Branch across the province.<br \/>\nPersonnel of the Special Branch are performing duties related to intelligence, security, verification, surveys, and surveillance.<br \/>\nA total of 308 personnel from the merged tribal districts have also been made part of the Special Branch.<br \/>\nIn 2025, the Special Branch defused 2 suicide jackets, 32 IEDs, 70 rocket shells, and 288 hand grenades, according to the briefing.<br \/>\nLast year, the Special Branch provided security for 635 political gatherings and carried out verification of arms and explosive licenses.<br \/>\nA total of 3,124 NADRA verifications, 6,840 passport verifications, 14,518 CPEC verifications, 6,060 personal verifications, and 9,413 government employee verifications were also completed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PESHAWAR An important meeting chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Suhail Afridi was held regarding the Police Special Branch on Sunday.
