\nThe State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC) is pleased to announce that Senator Saleem Zia has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, following a formal notification from the Ministry of Commerce.
\nMr. Zia brings to SLIC a distinguished public service track record. He served in the Senate from 2015 to 2021, representing Punjab, and has long been recognized for his leadership and governance expertise.
\n\u201cI am deeply honoured to lead the Board of SLIC,\u201d said Mr. Zia. \u201cAt a time when protection, health coverage, and financial resilience are more important than ever, I look forward to working closely with the Board and management to advance the Corporation\u2019s mission, strengthen its service to millions of Pakistanis, and continue working for the best advantage of our communities nationwide.\u201d
\nIn parallel with Mr. Zia\u2019s appointment, the government has strengthened the Board\u2019s oversight capacity by appointing Mr. Khaqan Murtaza and Mr. Shehryar Iftikhar Khan as independent directors.
\nThe appointments were made under the relevant provisions Life Insurance Nationalization Order, 1972 (LINO), and recent State-Owned Enterprises Act, 2023, as noted in the government notification.
