Zimbabwe\u2019s assistant coach Dion Ebrahim has expressed his team\u2019s excitement to participate in the upcoming Tri-Series in Pakistan, saying that the team is looking forward to the challenges ahead.
\nSpeaking to the media at Islamabad Club here Saturday, Ebrahim highlighted the experience of Zimbabwe\u2019s players, saying, \u201cThe experience of the players is huge in these conditions. The slightly different nature climate and playing under lights from Pakistan Super League (PSL) is going to be valuable.\u201d
\nEbrahim emphasized the team\u2019s focus and ambition, and said, \u201cWe have been working over a year, and we have played competitive cricket. We are looking to win the series with the ambition to compete and win. In T20 cricket, if we focus on one player, we lose the game but we have huge respect for our opposition.\u201d
\nHe praised Zimbabwe\u2019s players, including Richard Ngarava, \u201cWe have got Richard Ngarava, who is world-class and has shown time and again in T20 cricket that he\u2019s the best. Then we have young, explosive, dynamic athletes as well, so we are very excited.\u201d
\nEbrahim expressed his pride in being part of the coaching staff, and said, \u201cIt\u2019s a privilege to be part of the coaching staff, having played for the national team. We keep striving as a nation and team and also showcase our abilities.\u201d Meanwhile, Zimbabwe players also practiced at the Islamabad Club.
\nThe Tri-Nation Series involving hosts Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, will kick off on November 18.
\nAll seven T20I matches including the final will now take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
\nThe opening game of the tri-series will be played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe on Tuesday. Each team will feature in four matches, with the top two sides qualifying for the final scheduled on Saturday, November 29.
