\nPrime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on an anti-polio team in Matta area of Swat.
\nIn a statement, he expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of a security official who was tasked with protecting the anti-polio team.
\nCommiserating with the bereaved family, he prayed for the departed soul.
\nShehbaz Sharif said a terrorist attack on those performing the vital public service of eradicating polio is intolerable.
\nHe reaffirmed the government\u2019s firm commitment to the complete eradication of polio from the country.
\nHe said despite such resistance from terrorists, the anti-polio campaign continues with full force and will persist until polio is entirely eliminated.
\nMeanwhile, First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the attack on an anti-polio team in Swat\u2019s Matta area.
\nIn a statement today, she expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic loss of life.
\nThe First Lady said those who target health workers and security personnel, engaged in the noble mission of protecting children from preventable diseases, are enemies of humanity.
\nShe reaffirmed that the eradication of polio remains a top national priority and emphasized that such cowardly acts cannot shake Pakistan\u2019s resolve to ensure a healthy, safe and polio-free future for every child.
