He was addressing closing ceremony of International Federation of Consulting Engineers FIDIC Asia-Pacific Mid-Year Conference 2025 as Chief Guest in Islamabad.<br \/>\n\u201cDuring my tenure as Prime Minister, we actively promoted public-private partnerships, encouraged investment in infrastructure, and worked to create a regulatory environment that supported business and innovation\u201d, Mr. Gilani said.<br \/>\nHe reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives and reforms that strengthen Pakistan\u2019s engineering and infrastructure ecosystem, build institutional integrity, technical excellence, and inclusive progress. Mr. Gilani remarked that Senate stands ready to support legislation aimed strengthening procurement governance, encouraging ethical engineering practices, and promoting dispute resolution frameworks aligned with international norms.<br \/>\nHe highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, private sector, and the global community to expedite progress. Chairman Senate appreciated the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and all other development partners for continued support in building technical capacity, financing key infrastructure, and advancing reforms played a vital role in Pakistan\u2019s development journey. He praised organizers for dedicating space in this conference to young professionals and future leaders.<br \/>\n\u201cEmpowering our youth is a moral and strategic responsibility. Their ideas, energy, and ability to adapt to emerging technologies will define the infrastructure of tomorrow\u201d, Chairman Senate observed.<br \/>\nHe commended the Association of Consulting Engineers of Pakistan (ACEP) for bringing together such an impressive gathering of minds from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Mr. Gilani stated that thoughtful design of this conference, the quality of dialogue, and the inclusion of diverse stakeholders truly reflect Pakistan\u2019s growing stature in global engineering, procurement, and infrastructure discourse.<br \/>\nHe said that engineering and infrastructure hold a central place in every nation\u2019s growth and development. Roads, bridges, energy systems, and water networks are not just structures of steel and stone; they are lifelines that connect people, enable trade, and uplift communities, Senate Chairman remarked.<br \/>\nHe acknowledged the role of FIDIC in setting global benchmarks for integrity, clarity, and efficiency in project delivery. While considering infrastructure needs of Pakistan important, Chairman Senate underlined the need for judicious use of public resources and the adoption of such internationally recognized standards.<br \/>\nHe called for moving toward a future where infrastructure is not only well-built but also well-governed. He expressed confidence that connections made and the knowledge shared during this conference will continue to inspire collaboration in future. President ACEP Wasim Asghar also addressed the participants.<br \/>\nHe thanked the chairman senate for his views and said that the 3-day conference proved to be an opportunity for participants to exchange views, share experiences and collaborate.
