\nA high-level meeting was held at the office of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transplant Authority between advisor Health Ihtesham Ali and Administrator of the Transplant Authority, Professor Dr. Asif Malik.
\nThe meeting focused on strengthening, streamlining, and integrating the province\u2019s organ transplant system, a handout said. During the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that all organ transplant services would be consolidated under one roof and managed by a dedicated and autonomous Board of Governors (BoG).
\nThis initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the transplantation process. Special emphasis was also placed on promoting cadaveric donation \u2014 the donation of organs after death \u2014 across the province. The advisor health congratulated the Transplant Authority on successfully conducting the province\u2019s first-ever cadaveric organ donation and transplantation.
\nHe particularly lauded the historic case in which the organs of a 14-year-old donor were successfully retrieved and transplanted, giving new life to several patients. Advisor heath Ihtisham Ali termed this a proud milestone in the province\u2019s medical history and an inspiring example of compassion and humanity.
\nThe health advisor further announced that the provincial government would formally recognize and honor the family of the young donor. Chief Minister KP will personally meet the family to pay tribute to their selfless sacrifice, which became a beacon of hope for many patients.
\nHe reiterated the government\u2019s full support for the Transplant Authority and committed to expanding the deceased organ donation program throughout the province to save more lives and foster a culture of donation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
