Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif has strongly criticized the current federal government, alleging it was obstructing justice for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
\nSpeaking to the media, Mr Saif said, \u201cIf the country\u2019s most popular leader is being denied justice, how can an ordinary citizen expect to receive it?\u201d
\nHe accused the incumbent government of crossing all limits in its alleged campaign of political victimization against Imran Khan, claiming such actions have only increased Khan\u2019s public support.
\nSaif furthered that the people had no choice left but to protest for the release of their leader.
\n\u201cIt has become inevitable for the public to come out onto the streets. The repeated absence of judges and the delay in court proceedings clearly indicate that the cases against Imran Khan were fabricated and politically motivated,\u201d he asserted.
\nHe claimed that the absence of judges and lawyers appears to be a deliberate attempt to prolong the legal process.
\nAccording to him, had there been any merit to the cases, they would have been concluded by now.
\nKP government spokesperson said the 26th Constitutional Amendment has effectively paralyzed the judicial system.
\nHe argued that if the courts fail to deliver justice, then peaceful protest is a constitutional and democratic right of the people.
\nHe also criticized the government\u2019s alleged use of force, stating, \u201cThe fear among the people has dissipated. They are fully prepared to take to the streets again.
