{"id":81013,"date":"2025-05-15T08:24:41","date_gmt":"2025-05-15T03:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/?p=81013"},"modified":"2025-05-15T08:24:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T03:24:41","slug":"pm-says-victory-against-india-defining-moment-in-pakistans-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nabanews.pk\/en\/pm-says-victory-against-india-defining-moment-in-pakistans-history\/","title":{"rendered":"PM says victory against India \u201cdefining moment\u201d in Pakistan\u2019s history"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PASRUR, SIALKOT, May 14: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday hailed the country\u2019s recent military triumph against India as a \u201chistoric victory\u201d that would be \u201cremembered in golden words forever.\u201d<br \/>\nFlanked by top military leadership, including Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, alongwith the Deputy Prime Minister\/Foreign Minister, Defence Minister, Minister for Planning and Development, and Information Minister, the prime minister visited Pasrur Cantonment, Sialkot to commend the exceptional bravery and professionalism of the troops during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, part of The Marka-e-Haq (The Battle of Truth).<br \/>\nThe prime minister paid rich tribute to the valour, professionalism, and unshakable resolve of the armed forces.<br \/>\nReferring to Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, Prime Minister Sharif called it a tale of \u201ccourage and valour\u201d that he pledged to document in his autobiography. \u201cOur soldiers gave the enemy a befitting response,\u201d he said, highlighting that not a single inch of territory was ceded despite difficult conditions. \u201cThe Corps Commander told me how our brave men held their ground and repelled the enemy in an unfavourable situation.\u201d<br \/>\nHe applauded the Pakistan Air Force\u2019s \u201cextraordinary effort\u201d in neutralizing enemy aircraft, saying it was a practical demonstration of Pakistan\u2019s advanced military capabilities. \u201cThe world now acknowledges Pakistan\u2019s supremacy not only in conventional but also in technical warfare,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nPM Sharif warned that Pakistan\u2019s red lines\u2014especially concerning the Indus Waters Treaty\u2014must not be crossed. \u201cIf you dare stop our water, remember this: water and blood will not flow together,\u201d he declared.<br \/>\nHe accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of sponsoring acts of terrorism in Pakistan, including alleged involvement in the Samjhauta Express attack and unrest in Balochistan. \u201cMr. Modi, who trained the Mukti Bahini and lit the spark of division in East Pakistan, should not lecture us on terrorism,\u201d the prime minister said. \u201cWe have suffered over 90,000 civilian casualties and $150 billion in economic losses due to terrorism.\u201d<br \/>\nHe reiterated that peace and development are Pakistan\u2019s primary objectives. \u201cWe seek peace, but this must never be misunderstood as weakness,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are ready for peace\u2014and we are ready for war. The choice is yours.\u201d<br \/>\nThe prime minister thanked the top military leadership for their meticulous planning and coordination during the conflict. \u201cI personally witnessed the efforts of General Asim Munir, whose aggressive and tactical leadership turned the tide. Air Chief Zaheer Babar regularly briefed me on the technological edge our Air Force holds, which was evident on May 9 and 10.\u201d<br \/>\nHe said the recent military performance had become a source of pride for friendly countries and would be studied by military experts for years. \u201cThe leadership of our armed forces has become revered. I am proud of them, and the nation stands behind them like a rock.\u201d<br \/>\nWhile opening the door to future talks with India, PM Sharif emphasized that no dialogue could be one-sided. \u201cThere will be no trade with India unless it is part of a comprehensive dialogue. Kashmir remains unresolved as per UN Security Council resolutions, and this must be addressed.\u201d<br \/>\nHe recalled his earlier address at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, where he invited India to allow a transparent international commission to investigate alleged terrorist incident in Pahalgam, only to receive what he called a \u201cdastardly night attack\u201d in response.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are eliminating terrorism on our western borders too,\u201d he added. \u201cIf you attack us again, what you are left with will be destroyed.\u201d<br \/>\nConcluding his address, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s commitment to peace and development but warned that any further aggression would meet an overwhelming response. \u201cThe lesson for the Modi regime is this: our armed forces exercised restraint not out of fear, but discipline. We are ready for whatever may come. Pakistan will remain thriving until the Day of Judgment.\u201d<br \/>\nHe ended with a call to the Indian leadership to act sincerely for the sake of regional peace. \u201cStop misleading your people.
