Advisor to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Finance, Muzzammil Aslam, has dismissed Shehbaz Sharif\u2019s claim of securing Pakistan\u2019s last IMF program, calling it misleading.
\nAslam pointed out that when Pakistan obtained an IMF program in July 2024, Sharif claimed it would be the last. However, the country has now secured another\u2014 a 28-month Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF)\u2014 alongside the existing 37-month Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
\nHe stressed that while the first review has been completed and a staff-level agreement reached, the government failed to secure any relief for the common people. \u201cNo concessions were provided in taxes, real estate, or power tariffs, leaving the public to bear the brunt of economic challenges,\u201d he remarked.
