PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday emphasized that the Provincial government should focus on creating sports opportunities for the youth to highlight the name of country.
\nThe Governor attended the final match of the Chitral Cricket Championship 2025 at the University of Peshawar as the chief guest.
\nThe final match was played between Chitral Hunters and Upper Chitral Titans. After the match, the Governor presented the winning team with the trophy and congratulated the players.
\nIn his speech during the event, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed concern over the lack of cricket grounds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa especially in Chitral district.
\nHe also pointed out that the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in the province remains incomplete, while the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has successfully completed the renovation of stadiums in Karachi and Lahore in a short period.
\nThe Governor highlighted that the development of sports grounds in the province would help enhance the country\u2019s reputation, and the government would take practical steps in this direction.
\nFaisal Karim Kundi further expressed his commitment to promoting sports in Chitral and assured that sports facilities would be developed there.
\nHe also congratulated the administration of Chitral Hunter Club, especially Shahid Khan Shinwari, for their efforts.
\nMeanwhile, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, has expressed deep regret over an incident in which a lecturer at University of Malakand allegedly harassed female students.
\nThe Governor said that the police, district administration, and university authorities must ensure a transparent investigation into the matter.
\nHe expressed his shock and sorrow upon hearing about the inappropriate behavior from a teacher, emphasizing that such shameful incidents are equivalent to pushing women backward in both education and society.
\nGovernor Kundi further said that the traditions and values of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa do not permit such disgraceful actions in any circumstance.
\nHe called for strict action against individuals who harm the future of young people, particularly in higher educational institutions.
