Provincial minister for higher education Meena Khan Afridi emphasized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government\u2019s commitment to resolving the financial crises faced by the public sector universities.
\nMeena Khan Afridi, after inaugurating a 750kV solar system at Agriculture University Peshawar on Friday, assured that the government was serious about addressing the financial difficulties of universities in the province with a practical action plan.
\nThe event was attended by key university officials, including Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean Prof Dr Daud Jan, Registrar Dr Rizwan Ahmed, and faculty members.
\nMinister Afridi also highlighted the government\u2019s green initiatives, announcing that the budget introduced the ongoing financial year was primarily focused on sustainability, with all institutions to be shifted to solar energy systems.
\n\u201cThis is not only for the agricultural university, but we are determined to give a clear guideline for universities and other institutions towards sustainability and green energy,\u201d he said.
\nHe expressed hope that with proper education and training, students would enter practical life successfully and contribute significantly to the agricultural development of KP and Pakistan.
\nVice Chancellor Dr Jahan Bakht praised Minister Afridi for his continuous efforts in advancing higher education and his support in addressing the challenges faced by the university.
\nHe noted that the University of Agriculture Peshawar was the first university to adopt green energy initiatives, and the solar system will not only reduce the university\u2019s electricity costs but also contribute to environmental protection by cutting down pollution.
\nHe also mentioned that another solar project is underway and will be completed soon.
\nIn addition to the solar system, Minister Afridi launched a regular tree plantation campaign at the university, marking the beginning of an environmental initiative by planting an araucaria sapling.
\nHe acknowledged the vital role played by the university\u2019s experts in the agricultural development of the region and expressed confidence that the university\u2019s students would continue to contribute to the agricultural and livestock sectors at national and international levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
